    Want to learn a new skill for the New Year? Want to know how to prune your vine(s) professionally?  Wondered how to properly prune your apple and pear trees?

    Here is a great opportunity to learn pruning skills in the vineyard that you could apply to some other soft fruits in your garden.  Along with vine pruning, the main focus, Barry will briefly show you how to prune apple trees in his specialist orchard. You’ll learn techniques to maximise fruit yield and plant health each year.

    This is a hands on masterclass where you will not only be learning how to prune professionally but actually pruning the Amber Valley Wines vines ready for the 2018 growing season – our 2018 vintage will be depending on you!

    You’ll learn:

    • * Pruning to maximise vine health
      * Pruning to maximise fruit this season and next
      * Shoot selecting
      * Touch upon trellising systems and how they work
      * Aspects of vine management and the vineyard year

    Barry is our viticultural expert, with a wealth of vineyard experience.  Formerly the Chief Executive of the United Kingdom Vineyard Association (now GBWine) the national body for vine growers and winemakers, where he is still actively involved. Here is an opportunity for those harbouring a dream of starting their own vineyard to talk to one of the UK’s key experts.

    The day runs from 9am until 4:30pm – and included with the masterclass is tea, coffee, snacks & lunch.  You will also receive a bottle of our International Award Winning 2016 Lindway White wine to take home and enjoy.
